Mae'n edrych fel bod cynlluniau ar y gweill i sefydlu Plaid gwleidyddol newydd yn Lloegr ac yng Nghymru- Plaid y gweithwyr i fod yn hollol gywir. Mae 2000 o bobl wedi arwyddo'r datganiad dechreuol, ac yn mynd o nerth i nerth. Dyma'n rhannol beth yw ei hamcanion:
'This approach will help ensure the new formation is attractive to trade unionists, community and environmental campaigners, and anti-war activists. Most importantly it will assist in reaching out to workers and to young people who are not yet active in struggle.
In this way we can unite the strongest possible forces to build a powerful working class party that is capable of effectively opposing the anti-union laws, cuts, privatisation, environmental degradation and war'.
Dydw i ddim yn hollol siwr beth i feddwl am sefydlu Plaid newydd o'r fath. Wrth gwrs, mewn byd democrataidd mae perffaith hawl i bobl cychwyn Plaid newydd, ond a fydd Plaid o'r fath yn llwyddo yng Nghymru? Mae'n anodd gweld sut, yn enwedig gan fod y Blaid Lafur mor gryf yn ein ardaloedd dosbarth gweithiol yn y Cymoedd( liciwch hi neu peidio). Ac wedi'r cyfan, Plaid yw'r gwrthwynebiad naturiol i'r Blaid Lafur i weithwyr sosialaidd Cymru sydd wedi colli ffydd yn y Blaid Llywodraethol! Rydym wedi gweld Pleidiau fel Cymru Ymlaen yn ceisio achub y tir chwith, ond maent wedi methu yng Nghymru. Beth sydd i ddweud y bydd y fenter newydd hwn yn llwyddo? Efallai caf fy siomi ar yr ochr gorau. It looks as though there are plans to set up a new Political Party in England and Wales- a Worker's Party to be precise. 2000 people have already signed their Party's declaration according to the website, and they have growing support. Here is a taster of what they are about:
'This approach will help ensure the new formation is attractive to trade unionists, community and environmental campaigners, and anti-war activists. Most importantly it will assist in reaching out to workers and to young people who are not yet active in struggle.
In this way we can unite the strongest possible forces to build a powerful working class party that is capable of effectively opposing the anti-union laws, cuts, privatisation, environmental degradation and war'.
Personally I am not convinced that this can be a success in Wales. Of course, in a democracy people have the right to set up new political Parties, but will a Party like this make any grounds in Wales? It's very hard to see how they will benefit here, especially as the Labour Party ( like it or lump it) are still very strong in our working class valleys areas. And anyway, Plaid is the natural alternative for disaffected socialist workers who have lost faith in New Labour governance! We have already witnessed Parties such as Forward Wales try and fail to set up a left wing alternative here in Wales. What is there to say that this new initiative will be a success? Perhaps they will prove me wrong, let's see....

diddorol iawn, tro cyntaf i mi glywed am hyn. angen plaid asgell chwyth cryf yn Lloegr yn druenus i dorri'r consensws gan bod y tri plaid sefydliadol yn arddel rhaglen de o'r canol.
Don't kid yourself - the CNWP is a front for the Socialist Party. It's been lumbering on for a year without impact or momentum. About as likely to be a credible left alternative in England as Respect (and just as poor on the national question).
