Calling all young people

So, young people of Wales, put your money where your mouth is, and get involved in politics! I for one do not want to enter the elections in 2011 ( if I re-stand anywhere!) with young people claiming that politicians don't listen to them, and that their opinions are worthless.
I want to help rectify the situation, and get young people involved in decision-making for young people. BUT I will need help. I can't do it all myself. ( I know that Funky Dragon exists, but this won't compromise that at all)

So, I want to test the waters here on the blog to see what we can do, who wants to do it, and how we go about it. Ideally, I'd like to get a cross party team of people with different interests and talents so that we can get the ball rolling.

If you are interested either email me or comment on this site and we can go from there.....

By the way, I think that 'young people' should be loosely classed as those under 30 years of age. Like our youth movement, Cymru X, you can be a member if you are under 30 years old..... If you have a problem with this, just say!

I'll send you an e-mail about this sooner or later. You might be sorry that you asked. Be warned! :-)

I know for a fact that I won't be sorry. It all has to be constructive though for the record!

Would I ever say anything that wasn't constructive? By the way, have you got your assembly address yet?

Actually, I meant the e-mail - something@wales.gov.uk

Or I can send it to one of your many others if you haven't got that yet.

Have you inherited Margaret as well as the office?
Young people as opposed to youth I would include to 35
When we group for statistics we do 18-25 26-35
And both groups are disaffected voters

margaret's retiring. But she's been a great help during the election campaign.

35 years old for the plan? Does anybody disagree?

As long as you think of a better name than Funky Dragon, which sounds llike an activity centre for 3 year olds. You know, with bouncy castles and balls...

But why not leave out the age restriction? Are we saying that a 36 year old can't feel disenfranchised or ignored? Design a movement for young people - and make clear that it is for young people. What you will get is enthusiastic young people - whether 19 or young at heart 39.

Its a good plan Bethan.

I have tried to do it too and during my campaign focussed on including young people as a priority. But you are right you cant do it alone and it does need to be a cross party effort.

ioan bellin plaid staff in the picture.

On this issue, I need to advertise it first much more effectively to get more people invovled and then I will organise a meeting. Would anyone like to suggest a location?
